How to watch: Stakes high as ASU, Arizona square off in 98th Territorial Cup

This year’s edition of the Territorial Cup between ASU and Arizona football has some extra juice thanks to some massive postseason stakes.
The Sun Devils can all but guarantee themselves a spot in the Big 12 Championship with a win, but a Colorado win over Oklahoma State on Friday meant the one scenario out of 256 permutations that would keep ASU out even with a win was still in play entering Saturday.
For fans looking to track the scenario, two games involved start in the 10 a.m. MST window on Saturday. Sun Devil fans should be rooting for Kansas to win at Baylor or West Virginia to win at Texas Tech. If either happen, a Territorial Cup win gets ASU in.
Two more games that kick off after the Territorial Cup could also impact the scenario: ASU fans will want No. 24 Kansas State to win at No. 18 Iowa State (5:30 p.m.) or Houston to win at No. 19 BYU (8:15 p.m.).
It bears repeating: ASU needs only a win of its own, plus any one of the other four games to go their way to punch their ticket to Arlington.
Arizona has already been eliminated from bowl contention after the Wildcats lost to TCU last week for their seventh loss on the season, so best friends Noah Fifita and Tetairoa McMillan are likely playing together for the last time with McMillan almost certainly headed for the NFL.
They were outstanding in a 59-23 win in last year’s Territorial Cup, as McMillan had 11 receptions for 266 yards and a touchdown while Fifita threw for 527 yards and five touchdowns.
The Wildcats have a chance to spoil ASU’s College Football Playoff hopes on Saturday, however Arizona coach Brent Brennan said on Monday the rivalry should be the focus, rather than the stakes of the matchup.
On the injury front, Jonah Savaiinaea is questionable (leg). The offensive tackle is one of a few Wildcats with a chance to be early-round NFL draft picks, along with McMillan and cornerback Tacario Davis.
Brennan on Wednesday said he was “hopeful” Savaiinaea would be good to go.
