Following their win at Arizona on Saturday, the Sun Devils are one step closer to the program’s first trip to the College Football Playoff.

But there is still work to be done. Arizona State will meet Iowa State on Saturday in the Big 12 Championship Game; however, a win will not necessarily guarantee a spot in the playoff.

The new 12-team field will be composed of the five highest-ranked conference champions as well as the next seven highest-ranked schools (regardless of conference). The top four conference champions will receive byes into the quarterfinals, while the other eight teams will play on the campuses of the higher-ranked teams in their respective first-round games.

As we enter conference championship week, here is where the Sun Devils are projected to end up during bowl season.

Predictions: Will Arizona State go to the College Football Playoff?
