GLENDALE — Arizona Cardinals punter Blake Gillikin exited Sunday’s 30-18 loss to the Seattle Seahawks with an ankle injury.
Gillikin was seen in visible discomfort following his lone punt — that went for 63 yards — of the afternoon.
He came off limping before a lengthy evaluation in the blue medical tent.
In place of Gillikin was kicker Chad Ryland.
Ryland attempted one punt in the second quarter that went for 36 yards.
On top of his added punting duties, Ryland was 1-for-1 on field goals and had an extra point.
Gillikin has been a bright spot for Arizona this season after joining on as a midseason addition last year.
In 25 career games with Arizona, Gillikin is averaging 43.4 net yards per punt. He’s pinned opposing offenses inside their 20-yard line 30 times.
