The Arizona Cardinals added a couple more players on Thursday, signing receiver Aaron Dobson and punter Richie Leone to future contracts for the 2017 season.
Dobson is a three-year NFL veteran who previously played for the New England Patriots after being selected by the team in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Marshall. He played in 24 games for the Patriots, tallying 53 receptions for 698 yards and four touchdowns.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound wideout played in eight games in 2015 before being placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury, and was released by the team following the 2016 preseason on Sept. 3. He was then picked up by the Detroit Lions, but did not appear in a game before being released on Oct. 8.
A punter, Leone was with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League the last two seasons. He was a two-time CFL All-Star after averaging 49.4 yards per kick on 216 punts, with a net average of 39.1 yards.
Leone played college football at Houston, and was a three-time semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award. He spent time with the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers before landing in the CFL.
