Palmer No. 3 in Kurt Warner’s final list of top quarterbacks in the league

Former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner has the current signal caller Carson Palmer as the No. 3 quarterback in the league.
Warner, an analyst for the NFL Network, released his final rankings on the network’s All-Access show.
“I just felt like he was consistent week in and week out,” Warner said.”He threw for 4,600 yards, 35 touchdowns and a 104 quarterback rating and leading his team to a 13-3 record.”
Palmer finished behind Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers and Tom Brady of the New England Patriots, which Warner had No. 1 and No. 2, respectfully.
Palmer was ahead of Andy Dalton of the Cincinnati Bengals (No. 5) and Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks (No. 4).
Warner said he picked his Top 5 based on their consistency and how they played week-in and week-out and not so much about the stats they put up.
This season, Palmer set franchise records in yardage and touchdowns with 4,671 passing yards — besting Neil Lomax’s record of 4,614 yards set in 1984 for the then-St Louis Cardinals. His 35 touchdown passes broke Warner’s 30 set in 2008.
Palmer’s passing yardage and touchdowns were also career highs for him. His previous high for passing yardage was in 4,274 in 2013 with the Cardinals while his previous best in touchdown passes came in 2005 with 32 during his third season in the league with the Bengals.
This season, Palmer averaged 291.9 yards per game and averaged just over two touchdowns per game.
Warner had Palmer on his weekly Top 5 five times this season but never at the No. 1 spot. However, fans on NFL.com thought a little more highly of the Cardinals quarterback, ranking him No. 2 behind Newton.
