Arizona sports fans had a chance to share their opinions on which Valley city should be the franchise’s home.
With 943 votes in the Sanderson Ford Poll Question of the Day, fifty-seven percent of those polled believe the team should soon be calling downtown Phoenix home.
The city of Glendale and the Arizona Coyotes have gone on a rapid roller coaster of discussions throughout the past week, landing with this hot topic.
A motion passed with a 5-2 vote for the city of Glendale to cancel its 15-year, $225 million arena lease agreement with the Coyotes after just two years on June 10.
According to NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly the situation between Glendale and the Coyotes is “very, very unfortunate.”
Fans of the organization have been through a lot of changes over the years, from potential relocations to ownership.
If it was up to the fans, the franchise would be returning home to downtown Phoenix after more than ten years.
