If there’s one thing Phoenix Suns fans have learned quickly about rookie point guard Tyler Ulis since his move into the rotation it’s that he brings it defensively.
Earning a pedigree for being a hard-nosed defender at Kentucky, Ulis’ relentless style hasn’t stopped in his first season of NBA basketball.
Ulis will routinely pick up opposing ball-handlers the full length of the court and keep the pressure on them as high as possible every second he’s on the court.
The defensive approach Ulis has isn’t very common across the rest of the league, leaving the internet to making a spoof video of his defensive talents.
Marcelas Howard makes videos of himself impersonating popular NBA players, with some of his videos collecting hundreds of thousands of views. His highest-viewed video of his Kyrie Irving impersonation has over 1.2 million views.
Ulis was next up for Howard, who hilariously re-creates Ulis’ defensive techniques, including turning his back to the ball-handler.
The video caught on with Ulis and his teammates, who seemed to enjoy it based on their Twitter reactions.
