Pinnacle basketball star Niccolo Mannion reclassifies to 2019

Pinnacle High School boys basketball star Niccolo Mannion decided to reclassify from to 2019, he announced on Twitter on Friday.

The 5-star athlete, ranked the No. 17 2019 prospect overall by 247 Sports, led Pinnacle to its first 6A Championship last season. He was named the Gatorade Arizona Player of the Year.

That season, he averaged 23.4 points 5.8 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game. In the championship game, he scored a game-high 21 points and made three 3-pointers.

Mannion is currently playing on the Italian national team. In his sole appearance, he scored nine points and pulled down a pair of rebounds in 29 minutes of action.

On June 4, Mannion announced his top 10 list of universities he is considering. There are five Pac-12 schools, including Arizona.
