It seems like an annual phrase, but Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury are heading to the WNBA playoffs for the 10th time in the last 13 seasons.

After clinching home-court advantage on Friday and taking down the New York Liberty 96-85 in Sunday’s regular-season finale, the No. 5 seed Mercury (20-14) now have a date set for a Round 1 matchup with the eighth-seeded Dallas Wings.

The single-elimination game will tip off on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 5:30 p.m.

Due to a scheduling conflict at Talking Stick Resort Arena, the game will be held at Arizona State’s Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe.

If the Mercury win, they will have a Round 2 matchup on Thursday, with the semifinals starting Sunday and the WNBA Finals beginning on Sept. 6.

A WNBA Finals win by the Mercury would tie the WNBA record with four championships.

Mercury fans can purchase Round 1 tickets by calling 602-252-WNBA or by going online to PhoenixMercury.com.
