Punishment from the fight between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets on Saturday will affect the Suns’ upcoming game against the Lakers.
The NBA announced on Sunday that Lakers forward Brandon Ingram and guard Rajon Rondo were suspended four games and three games, respectively, and will miss the game against the Suns on Wednesday.
Ingram and Rondo will begin serving their suspensions on Monday against the Spurs.
Ingram was suspended “for aggressively returning to and escalating the altercation and throwing a punch in the direction of Paul, confronting a game official in a hostile manner, and instigating the overall incident by shoving Rockets guard James Harden.”
Rondo received his suspension “for instigating a physical altercation with, and spitting and throwing multiple punches at (Chris) Paul.”
Wednesday’s meeting between the Suns and Lakers at Talking Stick Resort Arena is the teams’ first this season and first since LeBron James signed with the Lakers in the offseason.
The Suns are 1-1 and the Lakers are 0-2 this season. Wednesday’s game will tip off at 7 p.m.
