Diamondbacks outfielder David Peralta was well on his way to returning to the majors from a back injury but faced a potential setback during a rehab game in Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.
Peralta left the game after fouling a ball off his knee. He walked off under his own power and returned to the lineup Thursday evening.

Thursday marked the second game for Peralta in Reno. He previously appeared in two outings in the Arizona rookie-ball league before playing two games with Double-A Mobile on Sunday and Monday.
A back injury placed Peralta on the disabled list on June 14, and the Diamondbacks are eagerly awaiting his return. Peralta is slashing .259/.308/.442 for Arizona this season.
Fellow outfielder Chris Owings remains on track to be called up to the D-backs in the next week and was in the lineup Wednesday for the second day in a row before taking Thursday off.
