Barack Obama is a White Sox fan.
He’s also the president of the United States for another few days, which means before he turned the White House over to president-elect Donald Trump, he was the one inviting the World Series champion Chicago Cubs to his home on Monday.
The 44th president got his own No. 44 jersey from the Cubs’ No. 44, Anthony Rizzo.
President Obama also was pardoned by Chicago president of baseball operations Theo Epstein for his Sox fandom. He was forced to challenge that same fandom further when he helped the Cubs fly the team’s ‘W’ flag.
