Arizona Cardinals lose DL Corey Peters for season with torn Achilles

The Arizona Cardinals’ worst fears with regards to defensive lineman Corey Peters were conformed Thursday, as head coach Bruce Arians announced the defensive lineman tore his left Achilles and will be out for the season.
Peters was injured early in Wednesday’s practice. He was helped off the field and then taken to the locker room on a cart.

Peters signed a three-year contract with the Cardinals in March after he spent the first five years of his NFL career with the Atlanta Falcons. This is not the first time he has suffered an Achilles injury, as one cost him the end of the 2013 season, too.
For his career, the 27-year-old has tallied 172 total tackles and 11 sacks.
