Goodwin and Fleming were ruled out after both also missed the Suns' first game of the two-game set, their first back-to-back of the season.

The Phoenix Suns will be without guard Jordan Goodwin (calf soreness) and forward Rasheer Fleming (ankle sprain) in Thursday’s game against the Orlando Magic, according to the NBA injury report.

The injuries leave Phoenix’s talent pool a bit more shallow than normal on the second night of a back-to-back, the first instance this season of the Suns playing two games in two nights. Phoenix has 11 other sets of back-to-backs this season.

Orlando is in an even a tougher health spot, as it will be without two starters, including leading scorer Paolo Banchero (ankle sprain) and guard Jalen Suggs (knee contusion).

Wednesday’s loss to the Portland Trail Blazers was the only game Goodwin has missed since injuring his calf 10 minutes into his run against the Golden State Warriors on Monday. He reached double-digit scoring in each of the previous two games.

Fleming also did not play Wednesday, and he has only appeared in two games so far this season, earning three coach’s-decision absences prior to the injury.

Phoenix tips off action against Orlando at 7 p.m. MST Thursday. Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro will shoot the ceremonial free throw pregame.
