Ronnie Price’s third stint with the Phoenix Suns will live on.

The 33-year-old guard inked a 10-day contract with the Suns on Jan. 27, but Price hasn’t appeared in a game during that pact. On Monday, Phoenix re-upped with the 11-year veteran for another 10 days.

Price played a career-high 62 games for the Suns last season, averaging 5.3 points, 1.6 rebounds and 19.5 minutes per game. He was also a member of the 2011-12 Phoenix squad, appearing in 36 games with an average of 3.6 points, 1.6 rebounds and 14.4 minutes.

Phoenix’s current core of guards is made up of Devin Booker, Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Knight, Leandro Barbosa and Tyler Ulis. Barring any major changes, Price isn’t likely see game action.

Price could figure in as part of a leadership role, as he was tied with Jared Dudley for second-most votes in a survey of NBA GMs asking which active player would make the best head coach. The Suns’ current head coach, Earl Watson, played with Price on the 2010-11 Utah Jazz.

It remains to be seen what the Suns want to do with Price at the end of this most recent deal. Because NBA teams can only sign a player to two 10-day deals, the Suns can either sign Price for the remainder of the season after these 10 days, or he’ll be released.
