Steve Keim did an excellent job constructing the Arizona Cardinals’ roster in 2014.
On Monday he was rewarded for his efforts, as he was named the Sporting News 2014 NFL Executive of the Year. The award was presented at the Annual NFL Meeting.
The award is given after a vote of NFL coaches and team executives.
Keim, who was also named the NFL Executive of the Year by Pro Football Talk, made a total of 217 roster moves between January and December 2014. His moves helped the Cardinals survive a rash of injuries that saw players miss 109 total games due to injury.
Keim is the third member of the Cardinals’ 2014 staff to earn a Sporting News honor, following Bruce Arians (Coach of the Year) and former defensive coordinator Todd Bowles (Coordinator of the Year).
