D-backs roster down to 41 as Bracho and Shipley optioned to Reno

PHOENIX — Pitchers Silvino Bracho and Braden Shipley have been optioned to the Triple-A Reno Aces on Sunday reducing the Diamondbacks roster down to 41 players.
Bracho is a three-year veteran out of Venezuela. All of Bracho’s 60 MLB appearances for the Diamondbacks have come out of the bullpen.
He has a career 5.46 ERA with Arizona and 59 strikeouts in 57.2 innings pitched.
Bracho logged 8 innings this spring giving up 6 earned runs and striking out 11.
Shipley has appeared in 23 games for the Diamondbacks over the last two seasons compiling a 4-6 record with a 5.40 ERA and 61 strikeouts in 95.0 innings pitched.
Drafted in the first round the 2013 MLB Draft by Arizona, Shipley climbed out of the minors to make his major league debut on July 25, 2016. Shipley pitched in three games this spring posting a 3.38 ERA and 4 strikeouts in 5.1 innings pitched.
The Diamondbacks made three other moves on Sunday reassigning pitcher Joey Krehbiel and outfielder Cesar Puello to minor league camp and the club released catcher Josh Thole.
