Marshall struggles with shot in summer league loss

Jul 19, 2012, 3:23 PM | Updated: 4:36 pm

The Phoenix Suns drafted Kendall Marshall because of his
playmaking ability, not his shooting.

In Wednesday’s Summer League tilt with the Cleveland
Cavaliers, we saw why.

The Suns rookie made just one of his 10 shot attempts,
scoring three points and handing out five assists as the
Suns fell 78-61.

“I just came out more relaxed,” Marshall told Suns.com. “Obviously, the
outcome was still the same, and you just have to score the
ball as a team. Individually, I just felt more relaxed out
there, and it was nice to get one game under my belt
[Tuesday].”

Marshall was not the only Sun to have a rough day, as the
team combined to shoot just 33 percent.

Second-year pro Markieff Morris led Phoenix with 13 point on
4-of-13 shooting.
