The Arizona Coyotes announced Sunday that six players had been cut from the training camp roster, five of whom were assigned to the Tucson Roadrunners (AHL) and one was sent back to his junior team.

Forwards Brayden Burke, Trevor Cheek, Matteo Gennaro and Adam Helewka and goalie Marrick Madsen were sent to Tucson. The Coyotes’ first-round pick in 2017, Pierre-Olivier Joseph, was sent back to his junior team, the Charlottetown Islanders of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

There are now 43 players remaining in camp.

This is the second roster cut the Coyotes have made during camp, the first one coming on Wednesday when Arizona trimmed its camp roster by 14.

Coyotes head coach Rick Tocchet said he’d like to pare the roster down to a full team for the last two games of the preseason, which are on Thursday and Saturday of the upcoming week. They’ll have to get down to 23 players by the start of the regular season.

The Coyotes will begin their regular season on the road in Dallas against the Stars on Oct. 4.
