Former Phoenix Suns head coach Alvin Gentry went just 13-28 in 2012-13 before parting ways with the organization on January 20, but he might not be out of a job too long.

Arizona Sports 620’s Craig Grialou confirmed Wednesday night, that both Gentry and Elston Turner with interview for the Charlotte Bobcats’ head coaching job next week.

Gentry, who took over for Terry Porter midway through the 2008-09 season, was 158-144 in parts of the five seasons with the Suns, including one trip to the Western Conference Finals in 2009-10.

Turner has 16 years of coaching experience in the league and spent the 2011-12 season alongside Gentry as an assistant on the Suns’ bench.

Like Gentry, Turner didn’t finish this season with Phoenix, as he parted ways with the organization after management opted to go with Lindsey Hunter as the team’s interim head coach.

Although both former Suns coaches seem like practical choices for the opening, the Bobcats head coaching position has become somewhat of revolving door lately.

Under three different coaches (Larry Brown, Paul Silas and Mike Dunlap), Charlotte is a combined 62-168 over the last three seasons.
