Nike releases animated commercial on Suns star Devin Booker

Before the Suns’ season opener on Wednesday, Nike released an animated commercial starring Suns standout Devin Booker.

The 30-second commercial features a child version of Booker in a barbershop getting his signature haircut, but with those in the shop laughing at it and his NBA aspirations.

Most notably, Booker predicts he will bring Phoenix its first NBA championship.

“I’ll take them to their first title,” Booker said of the Suns. “And make (my haircut) a world sensation.”

The commercial starts with the barber shaving a third line into the side of Booker’s head, then laughing at it with the others in the shop.

Booker responds by saying “Man, laugh now, but one day I’ll play in the NBA and be drafted first. OK, 13th.”

Booker was selected 13th overall by the Suns in the 2015 NBA Draft.

The fourth-year guard then goes on to say “then I’ll drop 70 for the Suns.”

Booker, of course, poured in a career-high 70 points in a road loss to the Boston Celtics on Mar. 24, 2017.

Booker also goes on to say the first black president and his barber are going to want his haircut.

The barber’s response?

“Devin, you’ll have to hit at least 80 for me to want that haircut.”

This isn’t the first time Booker has appeared in a Nike commercial, either.

He starred last March with rapper Futuristic in a remake of Michael Jordan and Spike Lee’s famous Nike commercial.

Booker scored a team-high 35 points in the Suns’ season-opening 121-100 win over the Mavericks, so maybe his aspirations for himself and the Suns are closer to coming true.
