Phoenix Suns guard Goran Dragic not selected to play in 2014 All-Star Game

Jan 31, 2014, 12:05 AM | Updated: 2:12 pm

Despite leading the Phoenix Suns to a surprising 28-18 start in 2013-14, point guard Goran Dragic was left off the Western Conference All-Star team Thursday.

Dragic leads Phoenix in points (19.9), assists (6.1) and minutes (34.5) per game. In addition, he’s shooting a career-best 49.9 percent from the field, while connecting on 38.8 percent of his three-point attempts.

In the end, however, it wasn’t enough to impress the 30 NBA coaches, who were responsible for voting in each conference’s group of reserves.

The seven Western Conference reserves selected were: Chris Paul (Clippers), Damian Lillard (Blazers), Dirk Nowitzki (Mavericks), Dwight Howard (Rockets), James Harden (Rockets), LaMarcus Aldridge (Blazers) and Tony Parker (Spurs).

With Dragic’s apparent snub, the Suns will fail to send a representative to the All-Star Game for a second consecutive season.
