Goran Dragic finally found his kryptonite on the international level.
The Phoenix Suns guard was limited to six points on 3-of-10 shooting in Slovenia’s 101-71 loss to the United States in both teams’ final exhibition match before the 2014 FIBA World Cup Tuesday.
Dragic only played 21 minutes for his home country and was matched up largely against Kyrie Irving and Derrick Rose.
After finding a bit of a groove in the first half, Dragic was limited by the Stars and Stripes’ stifling defense as the game wore on.
In addition to his unimpressive shooting line, Dragic also committed four turnovers.
“The NBA can offer so many good players, even if those other guys didn’t come, USA still has a good chance to win a gold medal,” Dragic told ESPN.com.
“It’s them and Spain. But the way they play so aggressively, they can pressure the whole court. They can beat anyone.”
