Josh Rosen might continue to draw the ire of hot-takey football analysts like Steve Smith, but he’s done nothing but endear himself to Arizona Cardinals fans.

Yes, Rosen is the first quarterback drafted in the first-round since the 1970 merger who didn’t last more than a season with his first NFL team. Arizona traded him Friday to the Miami Dolphins for a 2019 second-round pick and a 2020 fifth, effectively ushering in the Kyler Murray era.

While people like Smith might criticize Rosen for unfollowing his former team when he likely felt the end was near, the second-year quarterback and last year’s No. 10 overall pick is certainly taking the highest of roads out of town.

Rosen posted a goodbye video to his social media accounts on Saturday, thanking the Cardinals and their fans, introducing himself to Dolphins supporters and having a few things to say to the man who Arizona drafted to take his place.

“Cardinals fans, thank you so much for all of the continued support this year,” Rosen said with a backdrop of the Valley in view. “I know we didn’t win as many games as we would have all hoped, but I had an unbelievable time here. Unfortunately my time here is coming to an end, but you guys are really getting a hell of a player in Kyler Murray, and he’s going to do great things for the Red Sea.

“Kyler, I just want to congratulate you and your family for getting drafted. Arizona’s a really special place and you’re going to love playing and living here.”

Rosen said he’s ready for a new chapter of his life in Miami, where he will likely battle veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick for a starting job.

“My bags are packed and I’m on a flight first thing tomorrow morning,” he said, before using his platform to take care of some life business.

“Kyler, one more thing. An awesome two-bedroom in Old Town just came under the market, so let me know if you’re interested and I think I can get you a pretty good deal.”

Former Cardinals defensive back Tyrann Mathieu certainly appreciated Rosen’s handling of such a unique and probably uncomfortable situation.

Current Cardinals guard Justin Pugh appreciated the move as well.
