Suns’ Goran Dragic scores team-high 13 points in Slovenia’s loss to USA

Goran Dragic scored a team-high 13 points, but it wasn’t nearly enough as Team USA crushed Slovenia 119-76 in the quarterfinals of the FIBA World Cup in Spain Tuesday.
The loss ended Slovenia’s run in the international tournament. Dragic’s squad ended with a 5-2 record.
Slovenia hung tough with the superior American team for three quarters before being outscored 33-12 in the final ten minutes of the contest.
For the tournament, the Suns’ point guard averaged 16 points on 55.4 percent (46-of-83) shooting from the floor. He also shot 33.5 percent from three-point range and 60 percent from the free throw line while averaging 2.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. The 28-year-old ranked 11th in scoring among all tournament participants.
The American team will advance to face Lithuania in one semifinal matchup Thursday.
