Isaiah Thomas couldn’t be kept out of Phoenix for long. The former Suns guard will return Monday night to face off against the team that traded him last Thursday.

Thomas debuted for the Boston Celtics Sunday night and was ejected in the fourth quarter after arguing with officials. He finished with 21 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals, but also had four turnovers in the loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Suns sent Thomas to Boston in a trade deadline deal that brought Marcus Thornton and a first-round pick to Phoenix. Thomas had just signed with the Suns in July after playing with the Sacramento Kings for three years.

Here’s Thomas’ stint with the Suns, by the numbers:

15.2

Thomas had 15.2 points per game, which was tied for third best on the team. It was a considerable drop from his career-best 20.3 points per game last year with the Kings.

1-2

When Thomas faced his former team, the Suns were just 1-2. He averaged 15.3 points per game in those matchups, but only scored three points in the initial contest.

16

He scored 20 or more points 16 times this season, topping out at 27 in a win against the Portland Trail Blazers on Jan. 21.

10

Thomas led the Suns in scoring 10 times this season. Phoenix was 6-4 in those games.

42.6

Thomas shot a career-worst 42.6 percent from the field despite shooting a career-best 39.1 percent from the three-point line.

1

His only start in the 46 games he played for the Suns came in a loss against his former team in Sacramento. Thomas started because Eric Bledsoe was witnessing the birth of his child.

23-8-3

A blowout win against the Philadelphia 76ers on Nov. 21 may have been Thomas’ most efficient game of the season. He scored 23 points, secured eight rebounds, tallied three assists and had three steals in only 24 minutes. He shot 6-for-9 from the field including 2-for-2 from distance and made all nine of his free throw attempts.
