Cardinals-49ers injury report Week 9: Edmonds out, Johnson questionable

The Arizona Cardinals have a short week going into their game against San Francisco.

Following their Week 8 loss on the road to the New Orleans Saints, the Cardinals have to host the 49ers on Thursday Night Football just four days later.

After not practicing all week, running back Chase Edmonds (hamstring) has been ruled out, while David Johnson (ankle) will be a gametime decision.

On Monday, the team placed D.J. Foster on IR and traded for Kenyan Drake from the Miami Dolphins, the Cardinals’ third running back acquisition in the last two weeks.

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said in his press conference on Wednesday that Johnson is “still working through it” but it will be “running back by committee” with Alfred Morris set to be active.

Defensive lineman Zach Allen (neck) has also been ruled out, while offensive lineman Justin Murray (knee) will be a gametime decision as well.
