The Arizona Cardinals reportedly signed Jordan Phillips to bolster their defensive line and now they are losing a piece from last year’s group.

Defensive lineman Rodney Gunter has agreed to a three-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Gunter, 27, started all 13 games he played for Arizona in 2019 and was one of the most important pieces on a defensive line that lost Robert Nkemdiche and Darius Philon before the regular season. Gunter had 31 total tackles and three sacks in 2019 after a career-high 4.5 last season.

He was placed on injured reserve in mid-December due to a toe injury.

Gunter was a fourth-round pick by the Cardinals in 2015 and has played all five of his NFL seasons in Arizona.

A free agent last offseason, Gunter re-signed with the Cardinals on a one-year deal.

Phillips, Corey Peters and draft picks from last year Zach Allen and Michael Dogbe are expected to fill in most of the gaps on the defensive line, a group still in need of an additional name or two. Gunter, Jonathan Bullard, Zach Kerr, Clinton McDonald and Caraun Reid were names from last year’s defensive line that are free agents.
