The Arizona Cardinals on Friday announced they have officially agreed to trade running back David Johnson and two draft picks to the Houston Texans for receiver DeAndre Hopkins and a return draft selection, pending the passing of physicals by both players.

The reported deal had yet to be announced as NFL teams navigate coronavirus-caused limitations on travel.

On Thursday, the Cardinals likewise announced the official agreements to sign three free agents: defensive tackle Jordan Phillips and linebackers Devon Kennard and De’Vondre Campbell.

Kennard, who grew up in Phoenix, posted on Twitter Friday morning that he had just officially signed his contract.

Hopkins, a four-time Pro Bowler, is considered one of the top pass catchers in the league. Last season, he caught 104 balls for 1,165 yards and seven touchdowns. All told, he’s made 632 catches for 8,602 yards and 54 scores in 110 starts.

Johnson, 28, rushed for 345 yards and two touchdowns last season, racking up 36 receptions for 370 yards and four touchdowns through the air.

Along with the 6-foot-1, 212-pound Hopkins, Arizona is receiving from Houston a fourth-round pick that is 131st overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Cardinals sent the Texans their second-round selection this year that is 40th overall as well as a fourth-round pick in 2021.
