The Phoenix Suns are getting back their starting point guard in Orlando.

Ricky Rubio has returned to the team’s starting lineup on Sunday in Phoenix’s second scrimmage of the NBA bubble. They take on the Boston Celtics.

Rubio did not originally travel with the team to Walt Disney World in early July because he had the coronavirus. He would not make it to Orlando until July 17, and his first practice with the Suns was on Tuesday.

His status was largely unknown for the majority of the buildup to the first scrimmage on Thursday because the Suns would not comment on who was and wasn’t in the bubble. Rubio was not seen there on any social media posts, either.

It wasn’t until Rubio spoke with the media on Wednesday that he confirmed he was not in Orlando because he had the coronavirus.

Aron Baynes is still in Phoenix with the coronavirus while guard Elie Okobo recently arrived in the bubble after being away due to personal reasons. Guard Jalen Lecque is still not with the team due to personal reasons.

Rookie point guard Ty Jerome started in Rubio’s place for the Suns’ 101-88 win over the Utah Jazz on Thursday. Rubio did not play.

Starting alongside Rubio on Saturday is Devin Booker, Mikal Bridges, Dario Saric and Deandre Ayton.

The Suns’ scrimmage against the Celtics starts at 10:30 a.m. and you can hear the game on ESPN 620 AM.
