The Arizona Cardinals designated tight end Maxx Williams to return from the injured reserve list on Monday, the team announced.

Additionally, Arizona re-signed tight end Evan Baylis to the practice squad.

The team has the ability to activate Williams to the 53-man roster at any time during or at the end of the next 21 days. The tight end can can also begin practicing over that span.

Williams sat out much of training camp with an ankle injury but did see some action in Week 1.

He went on IR a day after the Cardinals knocked off the Washington Football Team in Week 2 but did not play in that game. He saw two targets in his lone appearance, but did not catch a pass.

The tight end brings with him a solid blocking presence in both the running and passing game.

Baylis rejoins the Cardinals practice squad after being released from the team’s active roster last Tuesday.

He originally joined Arizona’s practice squad on Sept. 29 and played in three games this season before being cut, The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder spent training camp with the Green Bay Packers after playing in five games with them last season. He recorded three special teams tackles.

The 26-year-old tight end entered the league as undrafted rookie free agent with the Houston Texans in 2017. He played in one game as a rookie.
