The Arizona State women’s basketball team postponed its upcoming matchups with Washington and Washington State on Tuesday due to coronavirus developments within the Sun Devils’ program.

The Sun Devils were scheduled to play WSU on Jan. 8 and Washington on Jan. 10.

The Pac-12 will work with the programs involved to reschedule the two postponed games.

The women’s team has now seen three postponements this season. Before Tuesday’s announcement, the Sun Devils’ Dec. 20 matchup with the Colorado Buffaloes was postponed due to COVID-19 developments within Colorado’s program.

The news of the postponements come after ASU men’s team was forced to postpone their matchups with the Washington schools following COVID-19 developments within its program.

Those postponements marked the third and fourth games to either be canceled or postponed for the men’s team this season.

ASU men’s basketball coach Bobby Hurley told Arizona Sports’ Doug & Wolf on Tuesday that the team expects to resume play this Thursday against the UCLA Bruins.

“Absolutely, as long as there’s nothing unforeseen that I can’t project right now,” Hurley said. “We had two games postponed for issues in our program and we had two others postponed for issues in other programs. It’s pretty widespread as everyone knows.”
