The Arizona Coyotes announced Friday their decision to reinstate radio color analyst Nick Boynton.

Boynton was suspended on March 26 after his involvement in an incident at a casino in Buffalo. He reportedly “caused a disturbance” and fought with police officers assigned there to provide security, and bit one of the officers on the finger.

Boynton pled guilty to disorderly conduct on May 8 and agreed to perform 100 hours of community service as well as continue with alcohol counseling.

“I’ve met with Nick several times and he knows he made a terrible mistake,” said Coyotes co-owner, president and CEO Anthony LeBlanc, in a release sent out by the team. “Nick is a good person and everyone deserves a second chance. He recently completed his alcohol counseling program and will now be reinstated as our radio color analyst.”

Boynton, 36, played 11 seasons in the NHL with various teams and won a Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010.
