Denver Nuggets guard Markus Howard walked into Phoenix Suns Arena for Game 1 against the Suns repping a piece of the Valley.

Howard was sporting a jersey from Gilbert’s Perry High School, where he played two seasons before transferring to Findlay Prep School in Nevada his junior year.

While at Perry, Howard averaged 27.2 points per game, 3.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.6 steals.

The guard collected a variety of accolades during his time in Arizona.

He led all Arizona high school players in scoring during his sophomore year, was named the Chandler School District Player of the Year both seasons and was named to USA Today All-USA Arizona Team both seasons.

The Perry Pumas sent some good luck across Twitter to their former star.

Howard went on to play for four seasons at Marquette and went undrafted in the 2020 NBA Draft. He signed a two-way contract with the Nuggets in November 2020.

In Denver’s first-round series against the Portland Trail Blazers, Howard played in all six games and averaged 5.5 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. Against the Suns on Monday, Howard made his first shot, a three.
