Rondale Moore has yet to play in his first career regular season NFL game, but Peter Schrager of Good Morning Football thinks the Arizona Cardinals rookie receiver will be a breakout player in 2021.

In his list of 10 players who could be poised to break out this season, Schrager has Moore at No. 5.

Of the players who made Schrager’s list, Moore is the only rookie. In two preseason games, the second-round draft pick has shown glimpses of why he is a breakout candidate.

In the Cardinals preseason opener against the Dallas Cowboys, he had three catches for 23 yards and even had two carries for 16 yards. He was used in a similar way in Arizona’s most recent preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs, with three receptions for 15 yards and a 9-yard carry.

The rookie could be involved in the kick return game too, as he took one return for 11 yards.

When the Cardinals drafted Moore No. 49 overall in 2021 NFL Draft, it came with questions about his 5-foot-7, 180-pound frame. However, Moore was a proven playmaker while at Purdue.

In 2018 as a true freshman, Moore was named a consensus First Team All-American as an all-purpose player. He racked up 1,471 yards from scrimmage his freshman year and added 14 total scores. Moore was a weapon on kickoff return as well, having 662 yards on 33 returns.

He burst onto the scene with his collegiate debut in 2018, accumulating over 300 all-purpose yards against Northwestern, a Purdue single-game record.

Moore would only play in seven games his final two years in college due to an injury-riddled 2019 and the COVID-19 pandemic shortening the 2020 season.

Should Moore stay healthy for the Cardinals in 2021, head coach Kliff Kingsbury could find a variety of ways to get the playmaker involved.
