Multiple teams reached out to the Arizona Cardinals this offseason to acquire wide receiver Andy Isabella, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.

Now in his third season, Isabella has fallen down the Cardinals’ depth chart. He is slotted as the second string wide receiver behind Christian Kirk but has been passed by rookie Rondale Moore in the early season.

Rapoport says that although the Cardinals wanted to keep the speedy wide receiver earlier this year, expect the calls to continue to come in as the trade deadline looms.

The former second-rounder has played in just two games this season, and he’s been mostly inactive. Yet, teams were calling Arizona to no avail about the speedster prior to the season. Expect those calls to increase as the trade deadline draws closer and if they don’t trade him, the Cardinals face the prospect of getting nothing for a former early pick who doesn’t appear part of their future.

Isabella appeared in Weeks 2 and 5, but only saw a combined six special team snaps. He has yet to record a target from quarterback Kyler Murray in 2021.

The wideout was drafted in the second round out of Massachusetts in the 2019 NFL Draft, a pick acquired when quarterback Josh Rosen was traded to the Miami Dolphins that same offseason.
