The Arizona Cardinals released safety Wydett Williams Jr. ahead of the team’s Week 7 game against the Denver Broncos.

Williams came into the organization as a 2026 undrafted free agent. This season, he played 144 snaps across five games. More of a Swiss Army knife than a traditional safety, Williams lined up all over the field across those snaps — whether that be in the box, as a slot corner or at different spots in various special teams coverages — according to Pro Football Focus.

Williams was out for the Week 6 game against the Los Angeles Rams with a concussion, but was a full participant at Thursday and Friday practices leading up to Sunday’s game.

In subsequent roster moves, the Cardinals elevated running back Evan Hull, offensive lineman Kingsley Eguakun and defensive lineman Jared Harrison-Hunte to the active roster from the practice squad. Hull was signed to a contract that was freed up by Williams’ release.

Williams recorded seven tackles (four solo, three assisted) and one pass defensed during his time with Arizona.
