The Arizona Diamondbacks have recalled RHP Corbin Martin and optioned RHP Edwin Uceta to Triple-A Reno following last night’s game against the Washington Nationals, the team announced Sunday.

Martin has a 4.40 ERA in 14.1 innings pitched in the majors this year. He will get his first start of the year Sunday against Washington.

All 12 of his Triple-A outings have been starts this season. He owns a 5.10 ERA in 60 innings with the Aces but has had a pair of strong showings leading to his recall. Although, he has allowed one earned run in 14 innings over his most recent two starts, one of which he threw eight scoreless frames.

Martin has not pitched in the big leagues since April 21 against the Miami Marlins. The 26-year-old was acquired in Feb. 2021 in the deal that sent Zach Greinke to the Houston Astros.

Uceta is in his first season with Arizona, posting a 4.26 ERA and 1.105 WHIP in six appearances.

The D-backs claimed the 24-year-old righty off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers last season. He did not pitch for the D-backs in 2021, but made 14 appearances for the Dodgers with an 0-3 record with a 6.64 ERA.

Catch the D-backs go for the sweep against the Nationals at 1:10 p.m. on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
