The Phoenix Coyotes have signed restricted free agent
forward Kyle Chipchura to a one-year contract, the club
announced Friday.
The 26-year-old Chipchura played in 53 regular season games
for the Coyotes, posting 3-13-16 and 43 penalty minutes. In
13 playoff games, he scored one goal and had three assists
while registering seven penalty minutes.
“We are very pleased to re-sign Kyle,” said Phoenix GM Don
Maloney in a statement. “Kyle is a hard working, versatile
forward who brings toughness and grit to our lineup. We are
happy to have him back.”
Chipchura was originally a first round draft pick of the
Montreal Canadiens in 2004, and has played in 216 NHL games
with the Habs, Anaheim and Phoenix.
