One of the greatest Phoenix Suns of all time will be inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor this season.

The Suns announced that Steve Nash will be honored on Oct. 30 when the team hosts the Portland Trail Blazers.

Nash played for the Suns from 1996-1998 and then again from 2004-2012. It was his second stint, which followed some time with the Dallas Mavericks, where he really established himself as an elite player.

Nash won a pair of MVP awards, in 2005 and 2006, while guiding the Suns to an unprecedented run of success. From 2004 to 2012 he averaged 16.3 points, 10.9 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game, while shooting .510 from the field, .437 from 3-point range and .912 from the free throw line. He led the Suns to three Western Conference Finals appearances during that span.

An eight-time All-Star, Nash finished his career as the Suns’ all-time leader in assists, 3-point field goals made and free-throw percentage.

Nash will be joining Alvan Adams, Charles Barkley, Tom Chambers, Jerry Colangelo, Walter Davis, Cotton Fitzsimmons, Connie Hawkins, Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle, John MacLeod, Joe Proski, Dick Van Arsdale and Paul Westphal in the Ring of Honor.
