Khaman Maluach registers double-double in Valley Suns action

Khaman Maluach registered a double-double as the Phoenix Suns rookie stood out in the Valley Suns’ 102-91 loss to the Austin Spurs on Sunday.

Maluach finished with 10 points (on 1-for-6 shooting, including 1 of 3 from 3-point range), with 15 rebounds, three blocks and an assist.

Meanwhile, fellow Suns rookie Rasheer Fleming scored 15 points (on 5-for-11 shooting, including 2 of 5 from 3-point range), with eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks.

Later in the day, Maluach and Fleming played three minutes each at the end of the Phoenix Suns’ game against the Miami Heat. Maluach scored two points and grabbed a rebound, while Fleming registered two rebounds. 

Suns second-round pick Koby Brea scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds in the G League contest. Damion Baugh led the Valley Suns with 21 points, while registering seven assists and six rebounds.

Stanley Umude led Austin with 34 points (on 13-of-25 shooting, including 6 of 12 from beyond the arc), with seven rebounds and two assists.

The G League Suns will host the Spurs again at Mullett Arena in Tempe on Tuesday.
