Diamondbacks-Guardians in rain delay after benches-clearing rumble
Diamondbacks outfielder Tim Tawa attempted a bunt to break up a perfect game before the benches cleared and the game was delayed by rain.

The Diamondbacks game against the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday was interrupted by a rain delay after a benches-clearing rumble.
The delay lasted for about an hour and a half and Cleveland ended up defeating Arizona, 5-0.
Guardians starter Gavin Wiliams had thrown five perfect innings, and Diamondbacks outfielder Tim Tawa attempted a bunt to break it up, with Cleveland ahead 5-0 in the top of the fifth.

Tawa’s bunt went foul before he then hit a single to actually break up Williams’ bid for perfection.
Guardians catcher Patrick Bailey took exception to Tawa’s bunt attempt to break up the perfect game. On the next play, Arizona’s Ildemaro Vargas grounded into a fielder’s choice. Tawa was out at second, but shortstop Brayan Rocchio committed a throwing error that advanced Vargas to second.
Rocchio then chirped at Tawa on his way off the basepath.
Arizona’s Tyler Locklear struck out, Corbin Carroll walked and Vargas went to third on a wild pitch, which is when the benches cleared and the tarp came out.

The tarp was briefly taken off the field and laying in the outfield, but moments later the groundscrew in Cleveland placed the tarp back on the field.

The reason no one watches this ancient sport is because of the asinine "unwritten rules." I am so tired of these losers whining like a toddler if a guy flips his bat or -- dog forbid -- celebrates at all after hitting a home run or tries to get the offense going by attempting to lay down a bunt during the half-way point of a perfect game. They all need to grow the hell up, including the senior citizen managers.
I guess the Indians aren't aware Diamondbacks are the best team in comeback games. Cry me a f*cking river.
OK - I agree with you. If it's a 1-0 score, you can't argue the situation. But when the score is out of reach, just deal with it.
