ASU TE Khamari Anderson out for season after injuring left leg vs. Kansas

Arizona State starting tight end Khamari Anderson will miss the rest of the 2026 season with a left leg injury he suffered in London against Kansas, Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro first reported.

Anderson had his left leg rolled up on by Kansas defensive end Leroy Harris III on the Sun Devils’ second offensive play of the game.

The tight end previously suffered a right leg injury at the end of spring camp that he worked back from and was active for the opener in a limited capacity.

Anderson had one catch for 21 yards in his three games this season, and he had five catches for 24 yards and a touchdown in 13 games in 2025. Prior to that, he was at Kentucky for two seasons, including for now-ASU quarterback Cutter Boley’s freshman season.

Anderson has been a clear leader in the tight end room both in terms of on- and off-the-field impact, and he’s one of 10 Sun Devils on the Tillman Leadership Council. One other member of the council, linebacker Zyrus Fiaseu, already suffered his own significant injury and is out for the season.

Anderson will have one season of eligibility remaining after 2026, having played two seasons at Kentucky and now in his second season at ASU.

Tight end reps will go to A.J. Ia, who represents more of a receiving threat, as well as Anthony Miller and James Giggey.
