Is Mike LaFleur ready to make a quarterback change amid 3-game skid?
Arizona Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur is fielding more quarterback questions than normal following the team's third straight loss.

TEMPE — The noise surrounding the Arizona Cardinals’ quarterback situation reached another level following Jacoby Brissett’s three-interception outing on Sunday.
But while many are calling for The Beckoning to begin sooner rather than later in Arizona, head coach Mike LaFleur isn’t getting caught up in that chatter.
He was fast to shoot down the QB question after Arizona’s loss to New York and didn’t have much to add Monday.
“I’m just focused on this week and trying to be as good as we can be,” LaFleur said when asked what it would take to have conversation about making a change at quarterback.
“We were 12 feet away from scoring 30, but we didn’t and we lost. So, we got to improve from it and work to be 1-0 this week.”
Cardinals quarterback chatter not going away anytime soon
Even if LaFleur doesn’t want to go there quite yet, his comments are going to do little in quieting the noise, especially as the losses stack up and Brissett fails to finish off games like on Sunday.
Week 1 was a strong showing for him and the rest of the offense. Did you notice how quiet the QB chatter was then? You hardly heard a peep about Carson Beck or Gardner Minshew II. That’s the power of winning.
But given the team’s current outlook — Paris Johnson Jr.’s season-ending injury doesn’t help — and the gauntlet of a schedule ahead, the losses are expected to pile up even more than they already are.
With them will come more calls for change and eventually action on LaFleur’s part.
When that happens, the decision should be Beck.
The Cardinals need to see what they have in the rookie before deciding on whether to take a quarterback in the 2027 NFL Draft in the hopes of landing their next franchise quarterback.
If Beck can answer the call, that opens the door for Arizona to use its first-round pick at another position of need. Pass rusher or the offensive line comes to mind right away.
Getting the biggest sample size possible should only help in Arizona’s decision one way or another.
So, while it doesn’t appear like a change is on the way this week, the clock is definitely ticking — potentially even speeding up — on Brissett as Arizona’s starter.

Cardinals brass doesn't understand the principle of sunk cost so they will probably keep playing Brissett up until the last couple of games to justify overpaying him.
