The Phoenix Suns could remain shorthanded heading into the weekend, while the Houston Rockets will be missing a pair of veteran anchors in their frontcourt.
Guard Jordan Goodwin is listed as doubtful due to a right calf injury, while forward Rasheer Fleming is questionable with a left ankle sprain ahead of Saturday night’s matchup against Houston.
Goodwin has missed the Suns’ past two games after suffering the injury in the first half of Monday night’s loss to the Golden State Warriors. Fleming, who has not been a regular part of the rotation early this season, sustained his ankle injury during practice on Tuesday. Center Mark Williams also remains out following left shoulder surgery.
On the other side, the Rockets will travel to Phoenix without backup centers Clint Capela and Steven Adams. Capela is sidelined with a right ankle sprain, and Adams remains out due to a right soleus strain that has kept him sidelined since the second game of the season.
The absences of Capela and Adams leave Houston thin behind star center Alperen Sengun. For a Phoenix team that has faced challenges defending opposing big men inside, the missing depth in the Rockets’ frontcourt could offer some relief on the glass as the Suns look to bounce back.
Phoenix tips off against Houston at 7 p.m. Saturday.
