The NFL has issued a fine of $9,528 to Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown for the use of his helmet on a hit that knocked Arizona Cardinals running back Bam Knight out of the game last week, per multiple reports.
Knight took the hit to the helmet from Overshown in the second quarter, which forced a fumble that the Cowboys recovered. Overshown led with his shoulder and made contact with Knight’s head, but the play was not penalized.

Knight was down for several minutes before being helped off the field and was later ruled out with a concussion.
Knight’s injury came as a tough blow to the Cardinals’ running back room as rookie Jeremiyah Love left the game earlier with a right ankle injury and did not return. He was placed on injured reserve Tuesday and will be out for the next four to five weeks.
Tyler Allgeier took the majority of snaps at running back for the rest of the game, rushing for 147 yards and scoring two touchdowns in the Cardinals’ 33-30 overtime win over the Cowboys.
Knight did not practice this week and was ruled out by head coach Mike LaFleur for the Cardinals’ game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
