Brandon Knight gives back in Back to School Backpack Bash

Aug 2, 2016, 9:35 AM

Brandon Knight has been the center of attention as a possible odd man out in the Phoenix Suns’ backcourt. Talks of trading the point guard or removing him from the starting lineup was one of many headlines of the offseason.

Those talks, however, haven’t stopped Knight from continuing to help out the Phoenix community.

“I enjoy being in the community, I’m blessed to be in the position that I’m in,” Knight said. “A lot of us aren’t blessed to be in this position, and to take a day out of the summer to help kids to have backpacks, to meet an NBA player, to be in an NBA arena at that, there’s a lot of things that come with doing this event.”

The event distributed backpacks to more than 600 kids, along with spiral notebooks, pencils, glue sticks and other school supplies. The 24-year-old continued to express how important the fans are and how much their support matters to himself and the team.

“I’m always excited to give back,” Knight added.
