Domingue took each Arizona sports franchise’s top iconic player and displayed them on the hockey mask: Larry Fitzgerald for the Cardinals, Steve Nash for the Suns, Randy Johnson representing the Diamondbacks and Sean Burke for the Coyotes.
The backup goalie was a major part of the Coyotes 2015 season when starter Mike Smith suffered a core muscle injury and was out for two months. Domingue appeared in 39 games last season, started in 36 of them.
Arizona Sports’ Craig Morgan believes that if Domingue plays well this season, the Coyotes may protect him over Smith in the expansion draft next summer.
If that’s the case, you can bet on seeing this mask protecting the net in Arizona for a while.
