ASU’s Marcus Ball, Zane Gonzalez earn Pac-12 Player of the Week honors

Another week, another player of the week.

Kicker Zane Gonzalez received his third straight Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week award and defensive back Marcus Ball earned the Pac- 12 Defensive Player of the Week award.

Kalen Ballage is the other Sun Devil to receive the Pac-12 honor this year for his eight-touchdown performance on Sept. 12.

Ball had a brilliant game, as he accumulated a career-high 10 tackles and had an interception. He was also stout in the run defense. Arizona State held UCLA in check for -1 rushing yards.

On the season, Ball is currently fourth on the team in tackles with 23.

Gonzalez had decent night as he not only nailed three field goals but broke the NCAA record for most field goals made at 89. The senior also leads the nation with 16 successful field goals and is tied with Luis Zendejas for the most consecutive games scoring a point in school history with 45.

Ball and Gonzalez look to keep it going when the Sun Devils take on Colorado (4-2, 2-1) on Saturday in Boulder.
