Love Actually is a British film from 2003 starring Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Colin Firth and Liam Neeson (no he’s not always trying to save his daughter from kidnappers) centering around the holiday season, relationships and happy endings.
It’s a favorite among women — and men who aren’t fully comfortable admitting they loved it. But let’s face facts — it’s a brilliant, feel-good flick that is still making people happy 13 years after its release.
The Arizona Diamondbacks, no strangers to filmmaking themselves, have used the intro of the movie, voiced by Grant, as the basis of their holiday greeting to fans. It’s filled with hope and optimism and a questionable British accent, but we’ll overlook that. It’s basically a message that says “hey, we know 2016 was rough, but here’s looking to the future, which has to brighter, right?”
